Jesus will go on to Jerusalem. Jerusalem will reject Jesus and kill him - as it has killed so many
prophets. Its house, therefore, will be abandoned and it will not see Jesus until he comes as the Son of
Man.
There is a lot of judgment here, but more than anything there is sadness - the sadness of God:
God who is like a mother hen who knows her children are terribly fragile and vulnerable; God who sees
her chicks who are in danger from the powers of the world; God who wants nothing so much as to
gather them in safety under her wings where the foxes of the world cant hurt them; God who is willing
to stand up against the powers and to even die for those chicks; but they will not come to her.
Body language - thanks be to God, the real language of Gods love shown to us in Jesus Christ.
