Welcome
to Central Presbyterian!
We are a Presbyterian congregation
consisting of roughly one hundred
and eighty active members, located in the center of Montclair, New
Jersey. Central is one of Montclair’s oldest churches, founded in 1837 as
the Presbyterian Church of West Bloomfield. The present building
(shown above) was
dedicated in 1922.
Our mission is to promote Christian faith and
spiritual growth in ourselves and our community in a setting which
is diverse, multi-generational, and welcoming. Empowered by God's unconditional love, we are a congregation
journeying toward abundant life!
Spotlight...
Theatre Central: Theatre Central will be performing "The
Dining Room", a play by A. R. Gurney, on Friday, April 25th and
Saturday, April 26th. Show time is 8pm, both nights, and
tickets are $15 (Adults), $10 (Seniors), and $5 (Children twelve and
under). Proceeds from this year's production will go to the
Human Needs Food Pantry.
Adult Studies: On April 6, we explore the roll of
women in the resurrection narrative. On April 13, we'll learn
about the history and current mission of the Presbyterian Women
organization. On April 20, Grace Grund, owner of Terra Tea
Salon and Fair Trade Eco Market, will explain the Fair Trade
movement. On April 27, we'll explore models of Christian fellowship,
friendship, and community and how they may be applied in a world
ever plagued by isolation and loneliness.
